Procurement Operations

Job Description

  • Process a high volume of low dollar requisitions and contracts for a variety of commodities, supporting the Universities and UM System, and in accordance with governing regulations and University policies. Coordinate with Legal Team on review of contracts and variances outside standard contractual language. Coordinate with other areas for appropriate approvals required.
  • Initiate informal bids based on specifications that meet end users' needs; evaluate and analyze bid quotes to determine lowest price for awarding.
  • Review aggregate spend on low dollar requisitions to identify where strategic contracts are needed; recommend potential contracts to procurement team members for initiating sourcing events.
    Assist strategic sourcing specialists with contract renewals, completion of tracking spreadsheets and processing change orders as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, standardization, utilization, other expense reduction or avoidance opportunities, improving customer satisfaction and the total value proposition of UM Procurement.
  • Assist with and monitor tracking spreadsheets for administrative reports as needed. Prepare reports and presentations as requested. Data entry as needed.
  • Promote diverse and Missouri supplier spend by soliciting to diverse and Missouri suppliers on informal bids and promoting tier 2 spend with suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Shift

7am to 4pm, or 7:30am to 4:30 pm, or 8am to 5pm, Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of procurement and/or contracting experience; ability to multi-task; attention to details; organized; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with end users and suppliers; demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $16.72 - $19.50 per hour
Grade: GGS 007
