Job Summary

The Ready Mix Quality Control Supervisor is primarily responsible for managing a teamand verifying that the product produced in the plantmeets quality standards necessary to conform to specifications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks in a safe and professional manner
  • Keep all work areas and equipment safe, clean, and orderly
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform all sampling, testing, and result verification in strict adherence to ASTM, AASHTO, State DOT, and other required test methods and CEMEX procedures
  • Ensure plant maintains product quality standards
  • Maintain records and lab logs and write reports regarding quality, testing equipment, or computer issues
  • Analyze data to determine corrective actions for quality issues
  • Recommends changes to mix designs based on field and or lab testing and customer issues
  • Works closely with the production and shipping departments
  • Inform management and/or other appropriate personnel immediately when product quality issues arise
  • Performs physical sampling and testing
  • Perform all other work or special tasks as assigned by supervisor
  • Assigns daily work to technicians
  • Notifies production personnel of actions or changes required to maintain quality standards
  • Interprets tests results
  • Vacation relief as needed
  • Respond to reasonable callouts as needed
  • Attend and participate in communication meetings and training classes
  • Trains other employees as needed
  • Communicates professionally with other employees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing


  • Associates or Bachelors Degree highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • At least three years of experience in Ready Mix plant operations or plant maintenance

Working Conditions

  • Long periods of standing and/or walking required
  • Some exposure to dust, noise, and extreme temperature
  • Be able to work all hours

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs


  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls
  • Must pass DOT physical to include back x-ray, hearing test and drug/alcohol screen
